As Juma Ikangaa, a Tanzanian marathon runner once said, “To win means nothing without the will to prepare.”
It is the mission of the Middletown Athletic Club (MAC) to promote running as a family oriented activity and to promote youth running. To enhance our mission, we offer a $1000 scholarship to a deserving senior in hopes that it will encourage them to continue to develop as an athlete and help prepare them with the education necessary for all aspects of life.
Eligibility
- High school senior Cross Country and/or Track and Field Athlete
- EITHER attending one of the following high schools, Appoquinimink, Odessa, Middletown, MOT Charter, St. Georges Tech OR attending another high school but residing within the Appoquinimink School District boundary
- Acceptance to 4 or 5 year college or university
- A recent copy of high school transcript (minimum 3.2 GPA required)
- Two letters of recommendation
- A one-page response to the following topic:
"How has your participation in Cross Country and/or Track and Field positively affected your life and how do you see it influencing your future?"

Your application form and all required documents must be emailed to macrunning@verizon.net no later than Friday, April 12, 2024. Required documents must be sent in PDF or Word format.
Mailed or dropped in forms will not be accepted. Applicants will only be considered for review if eligibility is met. The scholarship recipient will be notified in May and will be required to provide the appropriate information to transfer funds by the given date on the award letter or funds will be forfeited.
